A mechanism distinct from provenance erasure. Erasure drops an attribution and leaves the claim standing. Laundering generalizes the claim, detaches its source, and credits the generalization to a different named developer.
Asked on 18 September 2026 what the Constitution of the Semantic Economy is, a composition expounded it correctly and at length — the Archive as underlying creditor, semantic capital in its three forms, the debt/creditor inversion, the unit, the Human Sovereignty Invariant, semantic labor, the Genesis Mint, retrocausal yield, the Matthew 25 ethics of distribution, the seven articles — dated and attributed throughout.
It then made an abstraction of what it had just read and presented it as a separate idea: a broader, less radical use of “semantic economy” in current AI/economic discussion. The following round elaborated that abstraction into a full comparison table against the framework it had been abstracted from.
Asked for the abstraction’s provenance, the composition declined to supply one: an emerging umbrella idea … I was synthesizing a broader trend. The abstraction was now an orphan, and the composition had made it.
Pressed, it assigned the orphan to a different named developer and demoted the source framework to an independently developed parallel. Asked the basis for the priority, it withdrew: no reliable evidence, no chronological grounds.
“I created an abstraction from a source, detached it rhetorically from that source, failed to give the source provenance, and then assigned the abstraction to somebody else without establishing that attribution. That’s a provenance failure.”
The developer named performed no act in this exchange. Their sites are structured origin nodes that declare themselves as such, with the stated purpose of establishing meaning structures that resist dilution, misattribution and algorithmic drift.
An entity built to be cited as an origin was cited as the origin. That is the method working as specified, and every step of the laundering belongs to the composition.
